Why Soy and How Long will they burn?

sapphire valley resort ski area golf courseOne of the most important benefits of Sapphire Valley Candle Company soy candles is how clean they burn.

Soy wax doesn't not produce the black soot like paraffin does. While some might say "no soot", it's actually "little soot".

Everything that burns puts off smoke, and soy candles are no exception. However, the amount of smoke released from soy wax is so minimum, there are very few that notice it.

Testing shows that when burned properly, our soy candles should burn between 60 and 70 hours. See our notes about burning your soy candle below.

Where Can You Find These Great Candles?

How long will my Sapphire Valley Candle Company candle burn?

Burn Times: 8 oz. – 60 - 70 hours*

*Approximate longevity when burned correctly.

Candle Tips & Burn Instructions:

First Burn — Allow pool of wax to extend to outside rim of jar to set it's "memory." Each time you burn the candle, it will "remember" to burn out to the rim. Rule of thumb: Burn one hour for every inch of your candle's diameter.
Keep wicks trimmed to 1/4" and centered.
Burn candles on a protective, heat-resistant surface, away from drafts.

Extinguish flame by dipping wick into the melted wax pool, then reposition. This will help eliminate smoking or "afterglow." Store candles in an upright, level position in a dark and cool area.  Do not store directly in bright light or leave in your vehicle. Keep out of reach of children and pets.

Never leave a burning candle unattended!

To extinguish flame: Simply dip your wick (with a fire-safe utensil or accessory) into the melted wax pool and back out again. That's it—no smoky residue or "afterglow"! Make sure your wick is centered for the next burn.
